Finally figs.

Finally figs.

Finally we have had some figs that are a decent size and taste like figs should, sweet and fleshy. We had to move the potted Genoa fig tree because it was being strangled by the passion fruit vine. It is now up against the house, baking in the sun, and could not be happier.
We like them teamed with a creamy Gorgonzola.

  1. Yum love figs I really must think about getting a fig in. Perhaps close to the house so I can protect it from the birds. Good luck with yours

  2. We have been lucky enough to have figs too but I have had no luck in trying to establish a passionfruit vine. Just a month ago I put in my third attempt and I think so far things are going well. The first two I tried were grafted Ned Kelly passionfruit and neither of them survived the season they were put in. This time I have gone for a none grafted vine – suggested by the nurseryman – and it seems to be the answer. I am keeping my fingers crossed because I love passionfruit.

  3. They look amazing, Jo. Would love a bite! :)

  4. Lovely with proscuitto. ( not sure of the spelling)
